What you’re getting
A no-nonsense digital watch built around the things people actually use: the time, an alarm, a stopwatch, and a light to read it in the dark. No app, no charging, no pairing.
The stopwatch is the useful part
It times to a hundredth of a second, up to just under an hour, and it records split times along with first and second place finishes. That’s enough for laps at the pool, intervals on a run, or timing anything where you need more than one reading.
You can swim in it
100 metres of water resistance covers swimming, snorkelling and getting caught in the rain without a second thought. The usual caveat applies: that rating is for still water, not scuba diving or high-pressure jets, and you shouldn’t press the buttons while it’s underwater.
It keeps running on its own
The CR2016 cell is rated for roughly seven years, so the only maintenance is a battery you can buy in any supermarket for a couple of pounds. The calendar knows February has 28 days and adjusts itself, and you can set it to 12 or 24 hour time.
On accuracy
Within about 30 seconds a month, which works out to a few minutes a year. That’s standard for a quartz digital watch and only matters if you’re expecting it to match your phone to the second.
Who it suits
Anyone who wants a watch they can knock about, swim in, and ignore for years. It’s also a sensible first watch for a child, since losing or breaking it costs very little.
